Hi Corrigan,
I spoke with NLB's Service Technicians regarding your pneumatic throttle freeze ups. They suggested the following procedures:
1. Verify that the solenoid is what is freezing by temporarily bypassing it. Also check the light on the solenoid to insure that it is not a shutdown issue instead of a freeze up issue. (Low water or low oil).
2. Create a controlled air leak down stream of the solenoid so that the FRL that was installed would be allowed to move anti freeze through
the solenoid.
3. Relocate the solenoid up in the engine sheet metal toward the top so that engine heat would keep it from freezing.
4. Change the air supply coming into the solenoid to a different point so that the air could cool more allowing for less condensation into the solenoid. (Or maybe a longer air line coiled up would provide the same benefit).
The solenoid is fouled with condensation now. It should be cleaned and dried, all the air lines should be cleaned and dried and the air tank on the unit should be drained daily.
This should correct any problems you are having. If you not, please contact our headquarters in Michigan. We can be reached at (248) 624-5555 or (800) 441-5059.
Thank you for taking the time to post comments at our web forum. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to help create services.
